You've created the art.
Now, how do you sell it more than once?

Maybe you've thought about selling prints of your work, but you're not sure where to start.
Maybe you're already selling prints, but you're ordering inventory upfront, packaging every order yourself, or making trips to the post office every time something sells.
Or maybe you've come across Print on Demand before, but between choosing a printer, preparing your files, figuring out pricing, and connecting everything to your website, you haven't quite gotten around to setting it up.

If any of that sounds familiar, this guide is for you.

Whether you're completely new to selling prints or looking for a simpler way to manage the process, Art Prints, Simplified will help you understand your options and get the pieces in place.

Why Print on Demand?

For artists, it can open up an entirely new way to sell work you've already created.

With Print on Demand (POD), you don't need to invest in inventory upfront, package orders yourself, or make trips to the post office every time you make a sale.

When someone places an order through your website, your Print on Demand provider produces the product and ships it directly to your customer.

You create the art. They handle the production and shipping.

And when POD is integrated directly with your own website, your customers can shop your prints alongside your original work, while you continue building your own brand and collector base.

Your art can work a
little harder for you

You've already put the work into creating your art. Print on Demand gives that work another opportunity to generate income, without requiring you to personally produce and ship every order.

Once your products and systems are set up, an order can come through your website, be sent to your Print on Demand provider, produced, and shipped directly to your customer.

It's not income without work. You'll still need to create great products, market your work, connect with your audience, and run your art business.

But the fulfillment itself? That can happen without you.

So you can sell prints while you're in the studio, away from your desk, or focused on whatever comes next.

That's the kind of passive income we like: not doing nothing, but creating systems that keep working when you aren't.

So, how do you actually set it up?

That's exactly what Art Prints, Simplified will walk you through.

I created this guide to take the guesswork out of setting up Print on Demand and bring everything you need to know into one straightforward roadmap.

— Art Prints, Simplified customer

Hi, I'm Parisa.

I'm an artist, engineer and the founder of Artistech.

I first started exploring Print on Demand for my own art business because I wanted to be able to sell my work without being tied to one place.

And it worked.

Print on Demand has allowed me to continue selling my artwork while traveling around the world, without carrying inventory, packing orders, or being there to ship anything myself.

I create the artwork once, then I can focus my energy on what I actually want to be doing: creating more art and marketing my work.

The technology takes care of much of what happens in between.

Since then, I've experimented with different POD platforms and helped other artists integrate them into their own websites and online shops.

I created Art Prints, Simplified to share what I've learned and help you build a system that can give you a little more freedom in your art business, too.

Frequently asked questions

I'm not a digital artist. Will this work for me?

Yes. If you create physical artwork, you'll first need to digitize it through scanning or photography. The guide walks you through what to consider and when professional digitization may make sense.

I'm not very tech-savvy. Is this still for me?

The guide is designed to make the process straightforward and help you understand how the different pieces fit together. You'll also get access to sample tech tutorials. And if you'd rather skip the technical setup entirely, you can add our Print on Demand Strategy + Tech Setup.

I already sell prints. Will this still be useful?

If you're currently selling prints manually or through a third-party marketplace, the guide can help you explore automating fulfillment and selling directly through your own website.

Can I use more than one POD provider?

Yes. You can connect multiple POD providers to your website if, for example, you prefer one provider for fine art prints and another for apparel or other products.

Can I offer limited-edition prints using Print on Demand?

Yes. You can limit the inventory available through your shop and choose higher-quality print and paper options for limited editions.

Do I need Shopify?

No. Many POD providers integrate with Shopify, Squarespace, Wix, WooCommerce and other platforms, so your options will depend on your website and chosen POD provider.

That said, as a Shopify Partner, Artistech specializes in building and integrating Shopify stores for artists, and it’s the platform we recommend most often for artists who want to sell their work online.
